Because my TV gets no channels, I have waited until now to see the my TV debut. I thought I did pretty well, if I do say so myself. I can’t figure out how to get the actual videos on here…so you’ll have to click on the Part 1, 2 and 3.

On Part 2, notice my knot tying skills. The fastest knot tying I’ve ever done in my life! It turns out that when you have 2 1/2 minutes to do 4 minutes worth of things, you have to move pretty fast.
Part 3.
Be aware, on Part 3, that Craig’s and my aprons both have a hidden pink goat on them…but, I decided not to point Craig’s out…it was a little too close to his waistline for my comfort level. That would’ve been a little weird. Right?
Now…on to my 7-year-old. This is something I’ll remember in case my head gets big or something, from being on TV. And, he apparently hasn’t noticed the benefits of the whole food-on-my-face experiment.
While sitting out on the deck the other day, having some bonding time, talking about school and his friends and the like, he threw this in:
7-Year-Old: “Mom, you’re just not that pretty.”
Me: (choke), “What did you say?”
7-Year-Old: “No. Seriously, Mom. You’re UGLY.”
Me: “Why do you think I’m UGLY?”
7-Year-Old: “You’re hair is too bumpy and you have too many bumps on your face. You should look more like Jenny’s mom.”
So there you have it. The opinion, although unsolicited and unappreciated, from the peanut gallery.

About The Goat Cheese Lady
I am Lindsey. At first I was a city girl. Growing up, the closest thing I had to farm animals were a cat and a cockatiel.
In 2009, Herbert (my husband) and I bought our first milk goat and I instantly became an urban farmgirl, attempting to balance city and farm life..before I knew “urban homesteading” was a thing. That’s when we began The Goat Cheese Lady Farm, hence The Goat Cheese Lady blog you’re visiting now.
After moving to the country in 2014, I embarked on life as a rural farmgirl. We continued teaching farm and cheesemaking classes, raising more goats and began construction on our cheese creamery.
But life had other plans and in 2017, we decided that, due to financial and health issues, we had to close the farm for business. No more classes, no more creamery, a lot less milking. We went back to off farm jobs, I as an Occupational Therapist, Herbert in construction with his business, D&A Home Remodeling.
At that point, I made a silent promise to myself that I would corral my entrepreneurial mind and focus on a job for a year.
Well, it has been a year and I am back. Not to classes, cheese, soap or lotion, but back to writing. I love it. I’m not sure where it will lead me, but that’s where I’m starting. I’ll continue to write as The Goat Cheese Lady for now, and whatever the future holds, I’ll let you know.
Our two boys are 14 and 11 and continue to be louder than my sister and I ever were. We have two dogs, Montaña and Flash, a cat, Jumpy, a flock of chickens and three goats.
Yes, we still have Lucy, the goat who helped us start it all and was milked by over 1,000 people. She’s retired but still the boss. Chocolate provides enough milk for our family with some to spare for the dogs. Soccer friends, school friends, coyotes and mice are frequent visitors. There are way too many flies and every so often we see an owl.
I’m glad you’re here. Sometimes you’ll laugh out loud, other times you’ll be inspired to appreciate the small things. My hope is that, over your morning cup of coffee or your afternoon work break, you’ll enjoy the antics and inspiration that are my daily life.

I thought you looked great! I too am an avid fan of Crunch Betty and have been using nothing but the raw honey wash for almost 2 months – love it! And I was seriously impressed with your know tying and speed; it didn’t go unnoticed lol!

I really enjoyed watching you, even though Fox isn’t my usual morning viewing. As for the unfortunate comments from your son, don’t let it get to you. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about! Besides, you can use that quote in about 20 years to make him feel VERY guilty. I can hear it now…”You never call, you never write, and when I was young and beautiful you called me UGLY!” That ought to be good for some amazing birthday and Christmas gifts.
Well, seeing that he says he’s going to live across the ravine, he’ll get to hear that every day!!! Nothin’ like payback!!! =) And, I won’t mind the nice Christmas gifts, either!
Just so you know, I was sitting here watching these just now on You Tube, with my son (Marcello). We both commented how pretty you are. Not only that, but I was keeping up with your “food on your face” posts due to my own battles with adult acne. You looked radiant, not to mention and you have a great sense of humor and easy going style! I’m so glad you’re out there in our little corner of the world. Keep up your wonderful work!!! Marcello recently told me I’m ugly now, after seeing a photo of me in my 20s. Gee. Thanks kid. Bleh.
Yeah, the kids just don’t know what they’re talking about…do they. One of the comforts is knowing that, one day, they’ll have their own kids who’ll say creepy things like that to them. I’ll just be standing back, smiling.
